The new vintage of Monasterio de las Viñas Gran Reserva is even better than the previous (2007) release. This 2010 Gran Reserva is a blend of Grenache, Tempranillo and Carignan grapes, sourced from 45 to 55-year-old bush-vines. The Tempranillo and Carignan are aged for 24 months in French oak barrels while the Garnacha spends 24 months in American oak barrels. After selection and blending, this Gran Reserva is stored in bottle for an additional 36 months.

"This polished red shows harmony and balance, with black cherry, plum, black olive, licorice and mineral notes mingling over light, firm tannins and balsamic acidity.”
