Appearance: Dark ruby with a dense, dark core.

Aroma / Bouquet: Deeply brooding berries, vanilla and mineral tones.

Palate: Classic Barossa Valley shiraz showing characteristic richness and powerful structure. Succulent raspberry and blackberry flavours enveloped in vanilla and spice with dense tannin structure.

Serve: At room temperature 16-20°C

Cellar: Long term cellaring potential, peak drinking 2015 to 2030.

Food pairing: Richly flavoured dishes, red meats and game. Beef, venison, goat, pheasant and chorizo. Red wine, pepper and reduction sauces

Vineyard: 100% Estate grown from the rich loams of Siegersdorf vineyard in the heart of Barossa Valley. Altitude 250-270m

Season: A warm, dry Spring and Summer season saw beautiful ripening in the Barossa. A wave of warm sunny days and cool nights saw good quality and generous fruit flavour development.

Winemaking: Minimal intervention, destemmed and fermented on skins for 7 days with pump overs twice daily. Handcrafted in small parcels to exacting quality standards in Gatt's state of the art wine-making facility. Malolactic fermentation and maturation in barrel. Blended and lightly filtered before bottling.
