Seven years have passed since this wine was made, and every one of them can be read in the open, expansive and agreeably evolved aromas drinkers can enjoy in this Barossa classic, now sinking back into an articulate middle age. On the palate, too, there is maturity qualifying the classically soft, tender fruit profile, bringing notes of eucalyptus and camphor with it. At the same time, the old-vine fruit conveys a depth of its own which keeps the wine vivid and sustained. No red wine in our Best In Show selection is easier, less forbidding or more supple to sip than this one - and the flavour profile tells you that you could only be in Australia.
